MiniMessagePaper and plugins built on Adventure, such as LuckPerms chat formats, MiniMOTD and newer hologram plugins. The <gradient> option gives the shortest code.
&x&R&R...Older Spigot plugins that only read the long Bukkit hex format.

FAQ

How do I make gradient text in Minecraft?

Type your text above, pick two or more colors, choose your server's format and copy the code. Hex colors need Minecraft 1.16 or newer.

Why is my gradient showing as plain text?

The plugin doesn't read that format, or you don't have permission to use colors. Try another format from the list.

Is there a length limit?

Chat messages max out at 256 characters, and every color change adds code. The counter turns red past 256. MiniMessage gradients stay short no matter how long the text is.

Does it work on Bedrock?

Bedrock has no hex colors. On Geyser servers, Bedrock players see each color rounded to the nearest standard color.
